IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should always be taken. These include the following: Read all instructions before using this device. When not connected to a power source, the handle of this shaver can be used in the bath or shower. Because the device is designed for wet use, for safety reasons it can only be operated cordlessly. DANGER To reduce the risk of electric shock: 1. Do not immerse the charger in water or use it in the shower. 2. Do not reach for a charger that has fallen into water. Unplug it immediately. 3. Do not place, store, or charge the device where it could fall into the bathtub or sink. Do not hold or immerse the device in water or any other liquid. 4. Except when charging, disconnect the device from the power supply immediately after use. 5. This device is supplied with a special cord containing a safety extra-low voltage power supply. No parts should be replaced or modified. 6. Do not use extension cords with this appliance. 7. Unplug the appliance before cleaning it. CAUTION To reduce the risk of burns, fire, electric shock, or personal injury: 1. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and/or knowledge, unless such persons are supervised or have been instructed in the safe use of the appliance. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. 2. Use this appliance only for the purpose described in the instruction manual. Do not use attachments not recommended by the manufacturer. 3. Never use this appliance if the cord or plug is damaged, if it is not working properly, if it has been dropped or damaged, or if the power supply has been immersed in water. Take the appliance to an authorized Braun service center for inspection and repair. 4. Keep the cord away from hot surfaces. 5. Never insert any objects into the openings of the device. 6. Do not use the device outdoors or in environments where aerosol (spray) products are used or oxygen is administered. 7. Do not use the device with a damaged or defective foil, as this may result in serious skin injury. 8. Always connect the plug to the device first, then to the electrical outlet. Turn off all device controls before unplugging the device. 9. When connecting the device to an electrical outlet outside of North America, use an adapter plug that matches the pinout of that outlet. 10. Caution: The battery used in this device can cause fire or burns if mishandled. Do not disassemble, heat above 100°C (212°F), or incinerate. 11. Use only the supplied detachable AC adapter to recharge the battery. If the device has the marking 492, use only Braun power supplies with the marking 492-XXXX.
